Terms and Conditions for Online bookings

The Terms and Conditions relating to this service should be viewed as an addition to the Membership Agreement in Centres or Online.

By using the Online Service you indicate that you accept the Terms and Conditions and that you agree to abide by them. If you are not willing to accept these Terms and Conditions you may not use the Service

This Site allows St. Helens Council (Go Active) Customers to make reservations for some activities available within its service; the booking is secured only after the full payment process is complete. If the appropriate Membership affords free use of selected activities, the full booking process still has to be completed to ensure the booked space is secured.

  1. User Name and Password

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account, and are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your password or account with or without your knowledge. If you knowingly provide your login or password information to another party your use of the site may be suspended temporarily or terminated. You agree to immediately notify St. Helens Council of any unauthorized use of your account or password or any other breath of security.

  2. Available Activities or Classes

Not all activities or classes delivered within Go Active facilities are available to be booked Online. This may be due to the activity not needing spaces to be reserved or a pay-and-play schedule is in place. Please review the website of the appropriate venue for a full timetable.

  3. Booking Criteria

The Online Booking Service can be viewed by anyone, although, to use the Online Service all users must already have their details recorded within the Management Information System used by Go Active, including their full address, email, date of birth and contact number. This is the pre-designated criteria used by the software programme to identify the user.

Members can use their Membership Card number to register for online bookings and Casual users will need an Access Card number which can be obtained from any Go Active centre reception.

The ‘owner’ of the Membership/Access Card must be the person making the booking for themselves. It is not permitted for card holders to secure a booking for anyone else in their absence.

Bookings may only be made to secure places for personal recreational or social use, and not for the purpose of: securing group/block bookings, the provision of any coaching or any personal gain by the member.

Card holders are permitted to book consecutive time allocations but it is not permitted to book more than one class/session held at the same time as each other.

It is the responsibility of the Member/card holder making the booking to ensure that all participants attending a session (e.g: badminton or squash) have their own valid membership allowing free access within these terms and conditions. If all players are not members, an appropriate non-member fee should be paid in Centre prior to use.

Go Active operates a policy of allowing card holders up to 7 Online activity bookings per day and a maximum of 10 booking items may be held in the checkout basket at any one time. Users can access the Online service at any time and may book selected activities up to 7 days in advance and Fitness Classes up to 6 days in advance, in line with the standard Go Active booking policy.

On arrival for your pre booked activity/class, you MUST notify your attendance at Reception or Kiosk. Any pre booked space not attended will automatically be released at the advertised start time, you will incur a non attendance fee on your account & be unable to make any more bookings online or access facilities until the fee is paid.

  4. Cancellation Policy & Limitation of Liability

Cancellations MUST be processed before the start time of the activity/class, with as much notice as possible.

Go Active operates a no refund policy for transactions made from this Online service. However, if a non-member pre-paid booking has been made and then needs to be cancelled, you should contact the Centre directly by telephone, email or personal visit to arrange for the booking to be moved to an alternative day/time. This can be done once only.

For member bookings, the same cancellation policy applies however members are expected to process the cancellation themselves on line via the on screen instructions. (Further assistance for this is available via the 'Help' link at the top of the web page).

PLEASE NOTE: Non-attendance for a booking that has not been cancelled before the start of the session will result in a fee being payable. Members will not be able to make further bookings or access a facility until full payment has been made for the missed booking.

CANCELLATION BY THE CENTRE – Go Active reserves the right to refuse or cancel any booking without giving any reason, to refuse admission to a Centre, to reject an application of membership and to cancel a membership.

Centres can add to, change, withdraw or cancel activities without any notice. This includes closing a Centre or changing opening hours for special events or reasons of safety or maintenance. Customers who book and pay online for a session will be entitled to a refund if the Centre withdraws a facility or activity. No refund will be made to Membership fees.

St. Helens Council, its employees or agents do not accept any responsibility or liability for any expenditure incurred or loss/damage sustained such as loss of earnings, loss of income, loss of fee's, arising from the online booking being unavailable or cancelled.
